This is a sweet little aqua stained glass butterfly I mounted on this maple log. I made the butterfly from a beautiful blue/green mottled opaque stained glass for the wings and a dark purple glass for the body. Each piece has been hand cut and ground smooth prior to the application of copper foil to all edges and soldering it. I added wire legs and antenna and I have glued the legs down into this wooden base. I stained this wood with a reddish stain and sealed it with a low sheen polyurethane.
The total height measures 4 1/4 inches tall by 3 inches wide by 2 1/2 deep.
It would also make a great gift.
