I love caladiums and I grew some beautiful ones with red veins this past summer and they are what inspired this suncatcher. It is a heart shaped caladium leaf that measures 7 1/2 inches tall by 6 inches wide not including the hanging chain. With the chain it measures 12 inches tall.
It is made with a beautiful green streaky opaque stained glass and a transparent clear deep red stained glass. I made it by hand cutting each piece and grinding them smooth. Then applying copper foil to all edged and soldering it all together. I finished it with a black hanging chain and a black patina.
